Tax Process Overview

Phase 1: Submitting Your Tax Information

Annual questionnaire

  • Clients will receive an email from “LPC Tax” (notifications@cognitoforms.com) with access instructions for the annual questionnaire.

Gathering tax information

  • For a general outline of what to provide for individual 1040 returns, see: www.LPCtax.com/whattoprovide-individuals

  • If you are a returning client, we most likely provided an “Items Received” document in ShareFile with the prior year return. This may be helpful reference of what to provide for the current year return.

Uploading documents

  • Securely upload documents at: www.LPCTax.com/sharefile

  • All clients will receive a ShareFile login. You are able to send documents without a login as well.

Notifying when ready

  • Email us to confirm once you have submitted and are ready for us to review your tax documents

  • With the exception of Schedule K-1’s, we generally prefer documents be substantially complete before starting our review.

Phase 2: Wrapping Up the Return

Upon completion of the return, we will provide next steps. This includes:

  • Accessing the return to review

  • Scheduling a walk-through of the return (optional)

  • Paying our invoice (payable online via credit or debit card)

  • Approving the tax return via eSignature

  • Making any applicable tax payment(s)
